In the first game of the day the Fayetteville Flash defeated the NC Spartans, 76-63. The Flash was led by Miles Ray with 21 points. Carson Pierce chipped in 19 for the Spartans as they played very discipline but only had five players. Fatigue set in in the second half as the flash pulled away….

The Carolina Knights defeated the Juice All-Stars, 65-58 behind 27 points from Nasir Johnson. Jahsiah Hawkins-Davis netted 19 for Juice.' Johnson practically did it all for the Knights as he easily scored on all three levels….

In a rivalry game, the Charlotte Aces outlasted the Charlotte Royals 66-61 in overtime. The Charlotte Aces were led by Traore al-Housseine and his 14 points. Maurice Brown in Solomon Tucker also contributed 12 and 11 points respectively. The Royals were led by DJ Cuttino who tallied 17 points….

The NC Red Storm downed the Fayetteville Flash, 69-53. Do everything wing Keonte Bradley led the way for the Storm with 18 points in a couple of blocked shots. Trey Cousin also chipped in 16 for the winners who finished the game on a 19-4 run, escaping a collapse of Biblical proportions. Nehemiah McLean notched 4 3-pointers in totaling 18 points to lead the Spurs….

The Great One noted some standout individual efforts also:

6’6 Alex Holt asserted himself in a good win for Team Phoenix over the Charlotte Nets. Holt’s play opened up a close game as the Phoenix built a double digit lead and coasted in the second half.

DJ Thomas was arguably the best point guard in the building today as he is the fuel that makes a very talented NC Red Storm team go.

Another talented point guard was Lloyd Latta from the Charlotte Nets. He’s quick, crafty, has a good mid-range pull up and commands the troops on the floor.

Finally, The Immaculate One must mention a phenomenal U15 team in the Garner Road Gold. This group has tremendous size and talent…and was missing 6’11, 6’8, and 6’7 players today. They feature 6’6 forwards Avion Pinner and Carson Croom, 6’5 wings Dylan Wiggins and Kaleb Hedgespeth and excellent guard play led by 5’11 Julian King. This group has a chance to have a special summer if they work hard, play together and don’t read their press stories.

There you have it folks! The Sad One will return tomorrow night to recap the final day of the David Rose tournament. Now get to the Gate City and take in some good hoops action!
