Greetings HS hoops junkies from across the hot and humid piedmont. The Amazing One is here to give his Day 1 recap of the Summer Havoc event in Fort Mill. He mainly covered Court 1 but there was plenty of action to recap nevertheless. He will also name his “Serious 6” from the day. To the recaps!….

Full Court defeated SCBA 17U 65-58. Jackson Krisko had 18 and Noah Caulder added 15 for FC. Noah Hooper posted 15 for SCBA. Krisko has a silky smooth southpaw stroke (say that 3 times) that allowed him to hit key shots.

PSB Elite Jones dumped the Capital City Pacers 78-52. Camden Johnson accounted for 18 points and Treon Kelly added 15 of his own. Donovan Martin led the Pacers with 14.

Team Passion rolled to a 64-40 TKO over the Rock Hill Ballers. Jack Brown bombed in 9 3 pointers on his way to a 33 point outing and Mykell Slater collected crumbs that fell off the table to the tune of 10 points for Passion. Jayden Cornwell paced Rock Hill with 12.

15U Team Loaded outlasted Garner Road Morris 66-60. Davion Cunningham poured in 32 points and Antonie Piper added 17 for Loaded. Dakota Gordon paced Garner with 20.

In the game of the day, the Mid-state Magic escaped with a 70-68 last minute win over PSB Winston Black. Trey “Mater” Cousin not only racked up 32, but he accounted for the game winning free throws with just seconds left. Devin Satterfield had 14 of his own to lead the Magic. Jeremy Mull tallied 26 and Josh Tuggle had 19 for PSB.

NC Spartans West blew out Upward Stars Red 98-53. Elan Muniz scalded the nets 8 times from the promised land to collect 32 points and Isaac Wood added 16 to lead the Spartan cause. John Kennedy paced the Stars with 17.

Next Level 15U edged past Upward Stars York 60-58. Jaden Hicklin and Omari Bryson each had a 16 point game for Next Level. Dukinsley Peterson led the Stars with 22.

15U Team United got past Upward Stars Pee Dee 66-56. Chaz Gatewood and Samaad Wright each tallied 21 points for United and Deandre Huggins notched 23 to be the gamer for Pew Dee. United overcame a 3 point halftime deficit to post the win.

Carolina Hawks soared past the Soda City Spartans 44-38. Myles Ulmer scored 13 and Malik Greer had 8 for the Hawks. Ross Hartzog had 20 for the Spartans.

17U Spectrum outlasted Team Wall 62-59 behind Jared La Treill and his 15 points. Richard Law chipped in 12 as well. Deveon Scott had 20 to earn gamer honors.

NC Spartans 16U downed CCH Select 57-52. Dawson McAlhany piled up 27 points and teammate Thomas Markan had 11 points and 8 boards for the winners. Aavanth Ezhilan led the Select with 13.

Team Passion posted a 64-55 win over PSB Winston Salem Charles. Jack Brown bombed in another 21 points and Harper Neal had 17. Trevor Smith scored 14 for PSB.

RockHill Ballers 16U downed Vertical Thunder 55-49. Joseph Adams carved out 17 points and Devin Crayton chipped in 11 for the Ballers. Xavier Madison was the gamer with 21 for the Thunder.

There you have it folks! Day 1 of Summer Havoc is behind us and we now look ahead to next 3 days. The Great One will be back “in da house” at Nation Ford HS in Fort Mill tomorrow but we end with today’s Day 1 “Serious 6″….
