Phenom's Open Gym Tour
Trinity Christian (Fayetteville, NC)
By Jamie Shaw

This was Trinity Christian's annual college day, where they bring all of their players in to compete with upwards of 50 college coaches from around the country watching on. Coaches along for the ride here include representatives from NC State (x2), UCLA, Texas, Providence, Missouri, Wake Forest, Michigan, Louisville and about 20-30 others were in the gym watching as the Trinity Christian team took the floor.

Head Coach Heath Vandevender has coached the likes of Mike Thorne and Dennis Smith as well as won state championships in 2 of the last 4 years.

This team is loaded with Division 1 talent, here are some to look for…

6'7' 2019 Joey Baker
Baker is a national level recruit, who is on the lips of schools across the country. It is easy to see why Baker is such a sought after recruit as he has great size, explosion and skill set for his wing position. Baker also carries a 4.0 GPA. Baker currently has 22 offers to speak of.

6'8' 2019 Greg Gantt

Had has taken a major jump in his skill set over the last year. Not only does he stand at a lengthy 6'8' but he has tightened his handle and extended the range on his jump shot. Gantt is a multi purpose forward who claims 12 offers right now. He is right on the cusp of MM and HM as a prospect.

6'5' 2019 Audiese Toney
Toney just transferred in to Trinity Christian, from cross town rival Northwood Temple. He opened a number of eyes during the event and the coaches who were watching Baker and Gantt also became intrigued with Toney. Toney is a do everything type wing, who has a great handle in the half court, big time court awareness and vision and makes winning plays on the boards and defense. He is a high major guard and should see his offer list of 6, expand drastically.

6'3' 2019 Talton Jones
Jones is one of the sleepers of this team. He picked up his first Division 1 offer (Western Carolina) after his performance here. Jones has a 6'10' wing span and eyes in the back of his head. He has a flashy, but tight, handle and showed marketed improvement with his mid range game. With Western Carolina on board, look for more to come as the game continues to slow down for him.

5'10' 2019 KJ Marshall
Marshall is a noted sharp-shooter. He has deep range and a confident and quick release on his jump shot. In this setting he showed much improved ball handling ability, with an aptitude of getting into the lane. Standing 5'10' it will be interesting to see where his recruitment ends up, it is without question he makes big plays on a big stage.
