Phenom's High School Jamboree Session 1
What We're Looking For – Part 2

Nationally Ranked Top 10 2022 MJ Rice

We have been watching Durham Academy freshman MJ Rice for a couple of years now. He first walked through our doors in the Fall of 2016 and immediately opened our eyes. After the event we wrote, 'Rice has a motor on him. This kid runs the floor better than any big at camp. At the middle school level, Marquise is a beast. He had two games of 20 points and double figure in rebounds in both games that I watched. He is tough and loves to bang, even with bigger and older kids.' Even as a 7th grader, Rice was a standout, it was easy to see.

Fast forward to current day and you are talking about one of the hottest 2022 prospects in the country. He was one of the few 2022 prospects invited to the recent Team USA mini-camp where he showed out among the best of the best. Rivals.com National Basketball Analyst Eric Bossi said, 'The most impressive, physically, 2022 player I saw was 6'5 200 pounder M.J. Rice. He is powerful, bouncy, explosive & most of all mean. The guy really gets after it & he hit a few jumpers when he wasn’t beasting guys at the rim' Immediately following the USA mini-camp, Rice picked up Ole Miss and Pittsburgh offers. These two offers joined Boston College and North Carolina Central as the first four to come in for Rice.

Rice, who has been among the best in his age group since middle school, has immediately become must watch basketball. He will be ranked among the Top 10 players nationally in the 2022 class and has the inside track to play on the USA National team in his age group. He has already picked up all the buzz from the national guys and it is time for those in his state to get good an familiar with him.

This will be his first high school games played, at Phenom's High School Jamboree where those in Greensboro will get three chances to see him. He is the type of talent that 5-10 years from now, people could be saying 'the first time I saw MJ Rice was …'

Fortunately, this event IS open to the public, with 40 teams coming from five different states, it will be a day of can't miss basketball. Click Here to see the schedule ..
