6'6' 2019 Josh Hall
Oak Hill / Durham Hurricanes 16s
By Jamie Shaw

Within the first play of each time he steps on the floor, it is easy to see how good Josh Hall will end up being. He has all the skills and pedigree one could ask for as well as a frame that is incredibly projectable to the next level.

What makes Hall truly unique is that he is continuously growing, already standing in the 6'6' – 6'7' range. Hall has true perimeter skills. He has a good wing handle, he has deep range and possesses a very quick and confident release. When you look at the fact his father is 7' tall and that Josh may end up 6'8'-6'9' then you realize this kid has high major potential.

He spent last season playing at Oak Hill Academy, playing on their varsity team. This is a separate team from their national program, but never the less it really advances players. Hall's father Quincy, who was also somewhat of a late bloomer, is 7' tall and played at East Carolina where he averaged 7.5 points, 5 rebounds and 1 block per game shooting 55% from the field in the 1998-99 season.

In the position Phenom Hoops is in, we are fortunate to be able to watch many of the best players in the region grow from Middle School to High School to D1 prospects. Hall has been much of the same, last year after watching him in one of our events we wrote,''What you see is long from the finished product. 'Currently, he is a very slender wing guard that has advanced perimeter skills. He may be all legs and arms, but he has the potential to grow another six inches. Absurd maybe, but this father is 7'0 and played collegiately at ECU. Like his father, he is late bloomer. In the two games on Saturday, he had 17 and 8 points respectively including five 3-pointers. What makes Josh unique is his perimeter skills especially his ability to hit 3-pointers with consistently. In additional, Josh has good ball handling and passing skills. Add this to his tremendous length; his upside is through the roof!'

Coaches of all levels, in all leagues will need to watch Hall closely. He is a sure fire Division 1 player and we are betting the he turns into one who is looked at by the highest level schools.
