6'9' 2017 Aamir Simms of Blue Ridge in St George, Virginia has committed to Clemson University. Phenom Hoops #79 ranked player in the country chose Clemson over a final group that included Miami, Pittsburgh, and VCU.

Simms joins former Blue Ridge team mate Scott Spencer at Clemson, but while Spencer did play a part in his recruitment Simms made the decision on his own merit,''Scott did play a little part, but it wasn't that significant.''Simms went on to talk about how great all of Clemson, during his visit, made him feel,''The atmosphere! The President really made me feel as though it was the right place for me.'

Simms is a 2 time alum of the prestigious Virginia Top 80 as well as the NBA Players Association Top 100 camp. After his performance at the 2015 Virginia Top 80 Phenom Hoops' wrote,''Not only is Aamir very talented, but he works very hard and takes well to coaching. He has big time talent. While he has a tendency to drift on the perimeter, he has good low post moves and an excellent shooting stroke.'

Simms is very versatile and he sees himself utilizing that during his time at Clemson,''I see myself as a versatile combo forward who can put the ball on the floor, trail the play, post up, or play from the perimeter.'
