An exciting up and coming playmaker, Leroy is a talented and athletic guard who can flat out shoot it and
has excellent range but can also handle and make plays off the bounce. He is a gritty playmaker who
exudes toughness and competitiveness. He's smart and crafty with the dribble, can score in bunches but
also is a very good passer who can distribute the basketball and create offense for himself and for
teammates. A solid decision maker, Leroy has very good ball handling skills and can get where he needs
to with the dribble not only with his creative playmaking skills but using his upper body strength as well
and getting into the body of his defender and playing off that contact. He has the ability to open up the
floor for drives to the rim because he poses a serious threat with the jumper. Leroy can hit the catch and
shoot three or step in off the dribble and has great range. The threat of his jumper forces defenders to
crowd him far away from the rim which he exploits nicely with his strength and ball handling creativity.
Off the ball he has the ability to get open, demonstrates very good footwork on catch and shoot and has
sound mechanics. Leroy does a very good job using the shot fake and one or two dribble pull-ups and
shows good shot making consistency off the bounce. He is a high motor defender with excellent
footwork. He combines quick feet, solid mechanics and strength and can play quick and physical as he
harasses opposing ball handlers. Leroy really gets after it on both ends of the floor and sets the tone as
your floor leader. He has the tools to be an impact guard throughout his high school career and should be
another in a long line of quality, next level caliber guards out of the Oscar Smith High School program.
