The 6th Annual Phenom High School Jamboree will take place Saturday, November 3rd at Northwest Guilford High School and Proehlific Park in Greensboro, North Carolina. This event has always gathered some of the top private and public school teams in the state and this year is no exception. 40 teams and 60 games will be played in an exhibition format. Now, let's take a closer look at one of the teams participating in the event. First year head coach Glen Taylor inherits a team that finished 3-14 last season and looks to jumpstart the rebuilding process. Coach Taylor has nice blend of seniors and underclassmen and will look to make huge improvements playing in the tough and competitive NCISAA.

Carolina Day- Boys Basketball Prospects

6’4 2019 6'4' D'Angelo Elliott
Coach Taylor states, ” D’Angelo is a long, athletic wing. Tremendous scorer from all three levels when he gets it going. Defends three positions adeptly. Getting recruiting attention everywhere from Mid-to-Low DI schools to DIII schools. Has made great progress with his overall game since last year, both mentally and physically.”

6’2 2019 6'2' Devin Elliott — PG/Wing
Coach Taylor stated, “In many ways the heart and soul of our team. One tough kid. Plays hard on both ends of the court. Can get downhill with his dribble and finishes strong through contact at the rim. Smooth stroke on this three point shot. Tenacious on-the-ball defender. An absolute diamond in the rough prospect. Look for an absolute breakout year from him. Recruiting attention from DI, DII and DIII schools.”

6’3 2020 Lee Langstaff — Wing
Coach Taylor stated, “Lee is a Jumping Jack of an athlete who has worked hard to polish his jumper from beyond the arc. Lee is in a real comfort zone with his game right now. All aspects of it are coming together. A bold and strong driver of the basketball who can finish well above the rim and becoming a lethal three-point shooter. Outstanding defender especially on the ball where he uses his quickness and athleticism. Strong attention from mid-majors and low DI schools.”

6’1 2019 Navante Johnson — PG/Wing
Coach Taylor stated, “Navante is a quick as a cat guard. Can run the PG and the Wing. Pushes the tempo excellently from the PG spot and is a crafty finisher in traffic. Navante has excellent offensive footwork. Working to become a better shooter. Another outstanding and tenacious on-the-ball defender. Energizer Bunny type player who is getting considerable looks from some DII and DIII schools.”

6’2 2022 Cash Watkins — PG/Wing
Coach Taylor stated, “Cash is new to the CDS program. Strong, athletic player who exudes confidence. Football player in the fall that plays basketball similarly. He is simply a tough kid who is physically and mentally mature beyond his years. Still learning the system at CDS but this is a player who could end up being a big-time prospect in a few years.”
