The Phenom Challenge is one of the biggest events around the region and in the country, as 180 teams look to compete at the highest level.

We are expecting a HUGE turnout for this event in Spartanburg, SC on April 26-28.' So, Phenom Hoop Report wants to do our part in starting the buzz for the event.

Players and teams, of all ages, will have a chance to play in front of college coaches throughout the weekend.' But here are a few players to watch out for, as we preview teams that will be competing.

Check out a few names to look out for.

Team: Flight 22 Asheville 17u

Jaxzen “JT” Laws (2020, 5’11 Point Guard, North Buncombe HS)

All-Conference' Guard out of the WMAC. Very good outside shooter with excellent court vision. Does a great job pushing the ball up the floor in transition. High IQ player.

Tyler Parton (2020, 5’10 Point Guard, AC Reynolds HS)

All-Conference Guard/ All tournament out of WMAC. Very shifty off the dribble and does a great job getting to the rim and drawing contact. Tenacious defender, with a motor that does not stop.

Tyrece Thompson (2020, 6’3 Guard, Asheville High)

All-Conference/ All-tournament in WMAC/ All-district first team/ All WNC first team. Tyrece is a big and physical guard and he is still growing. Very good outside shooter and does a great job getting to the rim and finishing with either hand.

Jakari Thompson (2020, 6’3 Wing, AC Reynolds HS)

Jakari is a long and athletic lefty. He does a tremendous job on the boards and has a great midrange game. He often poses a mismatch for smaller guards.

Nathaniel Ledford (2020, 6’1 Shooting Guard, Mountain Heritage HS)

Nate was named All-Conference Tournament MVP for Mt. Heritage. He can really light it up from beyond the arc. Sprints the floor very well in transition.

Caden Norris (2020, 6’0 Shooting Guard, Brevard HS)

All-Conference Guard out of Brevard. Shoots the ball very well from any spot on the floor. Crafty finisher around the rim. Caden is a very intelligent player and makes sure his teammates are in the right spots and making correct adjustments.
