The Phenom Grassroots TOC was absolutely loaded, with hundreds of teams making their way over to South Carolina. In one of our biggest events, there are plenty of storylines to walk away from and Sewer South 17u was one that I was impressed with, especially learning more about and checking out new talent. This is a team that clearly should be earning more attention, and we are here to tell you way about a few players that impressed.
2025 6’6 Luke Jack
Jack was a player that we haven’t seen in the past, but he may have left the biggest impression on us after watching him this past weekend. The 6’6 prospect from Creekview High School in Georgia put on an absolute show each time we watched him, and it was clear that this is a young prospect that deserves more of attention. When talking to him, he has been receiving interest from D1 schools but he should turn those interests into offers. Jack was able to make and create all throughout the event. Whether it was his ability to create or himself, find ways to create space for his jumper from multiple levels, knock down shots off the catch and with range, use his length to create for others, and impact the game in so many other ways outside of scoring, Jack simply did it all and was consistent. That included an impressive 31-point showing to reach the championship game and then backed that up with 20 points vs. SW15H Elite. He can play multiple positions, play on and off the ball, score from multiple levels, and do so efficiently on the court.
2025 6’9 Miller Moody
If you are looking for a big, Moody could be a player of interest for college programs. He brings size of course, but he is a strong, reliable interior presence that displayed footwork and the ability to score around defenders. Moody can be tough when he gets deep into the paint, finishing and embracing contact, finishing with touch and angles, and can really be a strong force down low on the boards. Time after timer, Moody was able to make his presence known and was tough to stop at times.
Other Players of Note:
2025 Jayvion Nurse was one that showed flashes in his game, being a good option inside and out, knocked down shots, showed good athleticism in finishing at the rim, but also was able to make plays in a variety of ways on the court.
2025 Jonathon Pickering was another player that showed some good flashes in his game. He had a big showing in the championship game, going for 19 points, using his length and athleticism well, consistently finding ways to get to the rim or line but also knocked down shots as well.
