Class: 2025

AAU: Boo Williams

2025 Ryan Crotty should be a familiar name here in North Carolina, as he once was lighting it up in the class of 2024 for Holly Springs. But he announced a while back that he would be heading up North to play at The Miller School and it has been paying off.  Not only did he have an excellent high school season but he is continuing that strong play this summer for Boo Williams.

When talking about Crotty back in the day, one couldn’t deny his ability to light it up and knock down shots with confidence. Time after time, Phenom Hoops watched him rise up and knock down shots with range and confidence, something that certainly catches your attention at his size.

Back in 2022, we had this to say:

“2024 Ryan Crotty (Holly Springs) is going to talk that smack and back it up. The young man is relentless and there is no lack in his confidence. Hitting tough shot after tough shot with terrific release and range today.”

And again, he has continued to put in the work, and that has paid off in a big way over the last year.

“Since I’ve been at Miller School, I’ve changed my body, put on more weight, and have gotten stronger,” Crotty told Phenom. “I’ve gotten a lot quicker and more athletic; I think my defense has improved a lot playing against better competition.”

The start of spring/summer ball with Boo Williams has been tremendous; not only is Crotty getting an opportunity to showcase his game on the big stage but also continues to develop. And schools are noticing, as he has now added offers from Ohio, Old Dominion, and his latest one coming from Virginia Tech and High Point.

“The offer definitely means a lot to me, extremely grateful that Mike Young and his staff believe in me,” Crotty said about Virginia Tech. And then he added an offer from High Point a day later.

And that trend could only continue more this summer, as Crotty has certainly seen his stock on the rise and putting his game on alert with so many others.
