In the class of 2025 here in North Carolina, several players have been elevating their play over the last year and now heading into the summer, and one of those names that fits into that category is 2025 6’5 Isaiah Denis from Davidson Day/ Team CP3. Denis is coming off a championship season at Davidson Day, helping lead the charge and being one of the go-to players for his team. His blend of athleticism, scoring impact, and size make him tough to stop, but one can see that he has been developing his game as well.

Now, Denis is playing for Team CP3 this summer and he had a strong showing to start the summer at the Phenom Hoop State Challenge, where our own Jeff Bendel had this to say:

It’s always interesting to examine when everything starts coming together for a prospect, and that seems to be the case with Isaiah Denis. Fresh off a state championship, the 6-foot-5 skilled, athletic wing prospect joined this group and is already shining as a focal point. Denis stood out as an offensive centerpiece, showcasing the necessary polish, aggression, and consistency to burden the scoring load for extended stretches. He’s comfortable in several different roles. Denis is a useful creator off the bounce but knows how to find opportunities as a cutter and spot-up threat. Although he’s been trending upward in recent months, it’s clear that he’s ready to take yet another step within his progression. Denis made a quality impact defensively, applied pressure in transition, and set up others whenever possible. He possesses excellent feel and instincts on both ends of the floor. It was easy to appreciate Team CP3’s balanced scoring approach, but Denis will certainly need to provide a meaningful scoring punch for this group to maximize their ceiling. Folks can expect his recruitment to take off sooner rather than later.

Phenom Hoops spoke with Denis about his excitement playing with Team CP3 and the talent around him, as he is ready to showcase more about his game but also excited to play with the talent around him.

“It’s been good. I think everyone is just still trying to get comfortable with having so much talent on one team but it’s all coming together,” Denis said. “Once we learn to make the right plays every time consistently we’ll be a great team because that helps us on the defensive end.”

And with strong play this summer, his recruitment could take off even more. Right now, he holds multiple offers from schools like High Point, UNCG, Radford, Georgia State, Arizona State, Charlotte, and Indiana State, but he has been garnering more eyes his way. He has already taken visits to Virginia Tech and NC State, but he also informed that he has been hearing from Ohio State and St. Louis recently as well.

“Ohio State has been on me, mostly from Coach Justus who was at NC State last season. They are trying to get me and my mom up to campus as soon as possible. St. Louis is from the staff at Indiana State when they offered me. They have been doing a great job building a relationship with me, mostly with the head coach and assistant coach there.”

Denis also mentioned that he doesn’t have any visits scheduled as of yet, but he is sure that he will be visiting Virginia Tech again soon, as well as Ohio State, Indiana State, St. Louis, Mississippi State, and Charlotte, as he will likely be on those campuses soon.
