6′ Jaquante Harris
Hoke County HS (Raeford, NC)

Harris is a tough player who you cannot put into an archetype bubble. Just know he steps on the floor and makes plays on both ends. The guard has a tough handle and is a lock up point of attack defender. He is a very good rebounder and has the ability to both attack the paint or shoot from range. Without question he should be seeing offers come his way, but he is also the type of player who can carry his team into a deep playoff run and possibly win a game or two they shouldn’t. Without question, make sure to get out and see him, he is worth the price of admission.

6’3″ AJ Smith
Hickory Grove Christian (Charlotte, NC)

Smith really took off in July of this summer and has utilize the stage provided at Phenom’s High School Jamboree and Phenom’s National High School Showcase to solidify himself as a high major, Top 100 type prospect. He is a strong and explosive lead guard who has great size and plays with an unbelievable tenacity. He defends the point of attack very aggressively and he is a very good rebounder. Look for his recruitment to pick up with the regional high majors and there is a possibility he becomes a national type recruit.

6’7″ Hunter Sloop
Mount Pleasant HS (Mt Pleasant, NC)

Sloop is unique prospect who you will find initiating offense or playing on the block. It all depends on the matchups. Sloop is a grab and go option each possession. He shoots the ball with range and is able to reset an offense and get his team into plays. Playing 2A basketball, he is a double/double threat every game. He has a high IQ and excellent vision with shot making ability. He will put up numbers across the board this year, and should continue to do so into summer ball.

6’3″ Walter Ghaffar
Fayetteville Academy (Fayetteville, NC)

Ghaffar is an explosive athlete, one who will bring a crowd to its feet at least once per game. While Ghaffar has always had that athleticism, his ball skills are really developing. He is a solid secondary ball handler and is able to get downhill regularly. Look for him to become a lock down type perimeter defender as well.

5’10” Khalil Marshall
Pender HS (Burgaw, NC)

Marshall is fun to watch. The quick on quick lead guard plays with a feel for the game that either you are born with or don’t have. This summer he played up on the 16u circuit and was still his team’s best player. He has great pace and gets to his spots very efficiently. He can shoot, handle and pass and is already putting up 27 and 20 points each game in this young season. Watch for the big numbers to come and for him, even though only in 1A, to develop a following quickly.

6’7″ Omarion Bodrick
Independence HS (Charlotte, NC)

Bodrick is a high level, quick twitch defender. He plays tough and he has a natural timing that creates very loud plays. Bodrick has the ability to defend the ball and passing lanes and is great coming from the weak side to put the ball in the third row. Offensively, Bodrick is a rim runner, short corner guy right now, but that is all this Independence team needs him to be. He has a huge future and should follow along the path of teammate (and Murray State signee) Matthew Smith.

6’11” Gabe Wiznitzer
Christ School (Arden, NC)

Wiznitzer has been a major beneficiary of the early season Justice Ajogbor injury. The South Carolina native is a throwback type big who has a huge frame and is very skilled. He has great hands, very passer friendly, and is able to score it with his back to the basket, over both shoulders. Wiznitzer can put it on the floor from the high post or shoot the trail 3. Lots of upside here as his body continues to mature. He carries early offers from St John’s and Iona, more along those lines should be on the way.

6’2″ Terence Harcum
Granville Central (Stem, NC)

Harcum is a high scoring guard who just has a natural feel for the game. He averaged close to 25 points per game last season and is already putting up 20 points, 6 boards, 5 assists and 5 steals per game this year. He is a good athlete who plays with a great pace, with feel both on and off the ball. Look for more huge numbers from him, he is well coached and even though only a 1A school, will play anyone. Get to know the name now.
