Offers continue to rack in for one Canadian point guard, as 2018 Jaelin Llewellyn has racked up some impressive offers in the past few months.

Llewellyn, a prospect that has shined this season for Team Loaded and at Virginia Episcopal, has earned multiple offers from programs such as Purdue, Cincinnati, Charlotte, Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Wake Forest, Stanford, Virginia, Penn State, Ohio State, and Florida, just to name a few.

Patrick O’Brien from Phenom Hoops reached out to Llewellyn to learn more about what is going on this summer and his recruitment, as a few programs are stating strong case and he speaks about some visits he has already taken.

PHR: How is the summer been going for you on the court and with Team Loaded VA?  What have the coaches been focusing on with you this summer?

JL: Been going really well!  I love playing with this team because everyone is so unselfish and it makes it really easy and fun to play.  A lot of what the coaches have been focusing on is mental.  They realize that we are a very talented team but they’ve been focusing on trying to help us develop a professional and championship mindset.

PHR: What has been your focus game wise personally for you?

JL: Staying aggressive at all times and being more of a leader.

PHR: Know recruitment has been wild for you lately.  What has been going on lately with you in your recruitment?

JL: Just taking it all in right now, enjoying the process with my family.  Will begin to take a more serious look at the options after the July period.

PHR: What have programs really been liking about you and communicating with you?

JL: Ability to run a team, play fast, athleticism, and playmaking abilities.  They have been saying they need a point guard to step in and make a difference right away.

PHR: Know more programs have been coming in but would you say there are any that have really been expressing strong interest in you, maybe more than others?

JL: Florida, Purdue, Wake Forest, Virginia, Harvard, Stanford, Georgia Tech, Creighton, Minnesota, Maryland, and Georgetown are the ones I hear from very often.

PHR: Took visits to Maryland and Georgetown recently correct?

JL: Yes, Virginia the day before.  Visited Wake Forest a couple of weeks earlier.

PHR: How did each one of those go and what did you like about each one?

JL: Wake Forest: was like a college version of my high school, so I liked the smaller atmosphere.

Virginia: Also felt similar to my high school just on a scale, and I got to try the Noah system in the practice facility and enjoyed it.

Georgetown: was really nice to be in the city and I liked how much I could learn from the coaches and where they have been.

Maryland: I liked the arena and I got to see the living situation for the players and I liked the apartment setup.

PHR: Do you have any other visits you may want to take?

JL: Not sure yet.  Going to talk with my dad about that more.

PHR: In general, what are some things you are looking for when you visit or in programs?

JL: Places that offer a high level of academics so I know I’ll be set for when basketball stops.  A place where I know I’ll develop each year I’m there because I have goals of playing professionally.  And a place where I have the opportunity to play as soon as I step on campus.

PHR: Always like to ask players how they would describe their game on the court.

JL: Athletic, quick to get to the basket, good and improving shot, and love to get my teammates involved.
