Here are a few names that might be familiar in Greensboro for the David Rose MDC

6’1 ’19 Christian Peters (Butler HS)

Every tournament, you can always expect to hear the name of Christian Peters for Team Charlotte 15U team. He has been a consistent scorer in every outing and is a strong two-way player. Coach LJ Johnson stated, “Christian is a highly efficient shooter. If he gets a good look at the basket, it’s a high probability it goes in. he is a Tri sport athlete who shows his versatility off in different aspects on the court offensively and defensively.” At the Grassroots TOC Silver Championship, Peters scored 20 points in the win and was named game MVP in the championship game.

6’1 ’20 Destin Clark (Indian Land HS)

We first got a chance to watch Clark at the spring 2017 NC Phenom 150 camp. We were quickly impressed with his strong frame. As a matter of fact, he was built like a football running back that possessed quickness and sheer strength. In our NC Phenom 150 report, we stated the following. “Clark gets to the basket with ease and finishes consistently. He was unique that he could play several positions with his physical play, showing he had tremendous back to the basket moves, penetration ability, rebounding, and shooting capabilities.” Coach LJ Johnson stated,  “Clark is a true point guard, but plays comfortably at 1-4 positions. More importantly, he is a great facilitator who gets his teammates great looks by drawing so much attention by getting into the paint.” At the current time, he has already drawn interest from Liberty and Campbell University.

5’11 ’21 Jordan McPhatter (Butler HS)

Jordan McPhatter has been on the Phenom Hoop radar for the past year. Last year at the CP3 Live, he impressed us with his shooting touch and ability to stretch the defense with his 3-point shooting. In addition, he was really crafty in creating scoring opportunities for his teammates and had a knack for getting into the lane. He was outstanding at the recent Grassroots TOC. Coach LJ Johnson stated,

“Jordan is a wizard with the basketball. He really puts his teammates in great position to succeed with his decision-making. He is extremely shifty with unlimited range and not afraid to attack the basket. Jordan had a game of 31 vs GSP in semifinal game of Grassroots TOC.”

5’8 ’21 Jalen Hinton 2021 (Concord First Assembly)

Jalen Hinton is a tough all around guard that can score, create and distribute at a very high level. We were impressed with his defensive tenacity and quick lateral movement and ability to push tremendous pressure on the opposing point guard. Coach LJ Johnson stated, “Hinton is his team’s best defender and really makes the team go with his overall hustle. His teammates feed off his energy and are constantly creating havoc on defense. In addition, he scores proficiently at all three levels."
