Fayetteville Magic Elite 16U team will be playing in the upcoming David Rose Memorial Day Classic and features one of the better players in the NC 2019 class. 6’3 ’19 Talton Jones has been on our radar when he first attended the NC Phenom 150 camp. Standing a lengthy 6’3, Jones carries an impressive 6’9 wingspan and will be one of the more unique and intriguing players at the David Rose MDC. As a matter of fact, we were so impressed with his ability that he garnished an invitation to the 4th Annual NC Top 80 camp back in March. In our NC Top 80 recap, we stated the following. “Talton Jones is a long lead guard that puts winning and his team’s success ahead of everything else. Offensively, he is best suited with he ball in his hands, as he is able to penetrate and create looks for the team. Jones sees the floor extremely well and is always looking to make the right pass. Defensively, he is a dog, constantly harassing opponents on and off-ball. Jones uses his long arms to tally deflections quite often. Next in his development process expanding his offensive game, as a reliable three-point shot would make him a two-way nightmare for opposing guards.”
Coach Clint Boneschans of the Fayetteville Magic Elite stated, "Talton is the most prolific passer in the NC 2019 class. His court awareness and vision are superb. He has a 6 '9" wingspan which helps make him a lockdown defender as well. He has NCAA PG written all over him.” Jones already sports an offer from Campbell University and carries a 3.1 GPA in the classroom.
6’5 ’19 Jaylen Hudson (Cape Fear HS)
Jaylen combines an unique blend of athletics and academics. We’re talking about a “student athlete” who sports an impressive 4.4 GPA and should be player that is recruited by Ivy League schools. In speaking with his travel ball coach, “Hudson has a pro player wingspan and can run the floor like a guard.” He is a skilled shot blocker and tremendous rebounder for his size and position.
