High School Coach Evaluation: Over the past twenty-five years, I have had the opportunity to coach numerous prospective collegiate basketball players and in my estimation Torrey ranks among the best point guards. Torrey is extremely talented, self-confident, and intense.

Torrey’s drive is very evident to those who see and interact with him on a daily basis.  His dedication to the game is a tribute to the way he plays. He has a wealth of knowledge and understands the game of basketball.  He exemplifies a positive attitude and a strong feeling of self-worth that comes from his sound work ethic and preparedness.  He is punctual and always puts his heart and soul into every practice and game.  Torrey is particularly unselfish and exceptionally coachable.  In addition, Torrey’s commitment to the game of basketball makes him not afraid to except challenges, which are without a doubt one of his greatest qualities.

Torrey’s goal is to become a college basketball player.  As a point guard Torrey has the ball-handling, dribbling, and passing ability to make any team successful that he plays on.  He is explosive driving by a defender, quick to react if a teammate is open cutting to the basket, and decisive enough to reset the offense if a good scoring opportunity is not available. Besides, he is working really hard at becoming a lockdown defender himself. Throughout the time I have known Torrey he has displayed the moral character, discipline, and commitment necessary to become a successful student-athlete at the next level. – Coach Tom Gunsalus, Head Coach Tallwood High School
