6’7 unsigned senior Jimmy Burse is definitely a player D1 and especially D2 schools should immediately check out. This past summer, Jimmy played on the SR1 AllStars out of Ridgeland, Mississippi. The SR1 All Stars are an organization that is made up of high character athletes who are also some of the best players in the state of Mississippi. In speaking with founder and coach Tamu Green, he stated the “SR1 Al Stars have been ranked no. 7 in the nation (AAU ranking) and has won over seven national tournaments while consistently playing on the Adidas Silver Circuit and summer championships.”

We got a chance to watch Jimmy play several times in the Summer Havoc. He was instrumental in the team’s success and run to the Big East 17U division championship. We’re talking about a player that has a high basketball IQ that combines athleticism to his resume. Jimmy is a highly intellectual young man on and off the court. He has excellent length and the southpaw has set the shot blocking records at Terry High School in Terry, Mississippi. This season, Jimmy is having a monster season on the court and is averaging a double double. He is scoring 18 PPG and collects 12 RPG. In addition, Jimmy has good court awareness and is a willing passer out of the post where he is averaging 4 APG. Not to mention he is also blocking a minimum of two shots per game and two steals per game. He gets the job done on both ends of the court and also excels in the classroom. Off the court, Jimmy has scored a 29 on his ACT.
