Point guard David Duke from Cushing Academy high school in Rhode Island has been a growing name around the country and last week, might have received his biggest offer from the Kansas Jayhawks.
Duke is a 6-foot-4 guard that holds offers from Brown, Bryant, Massachusetts, St. Bonaventure, Providence, Columbia, Rhode Island, Rutgers, Northwestern and has just received offers from VCU, Florida, and Kansas in the past month.
“Everything has been great so far, loving the recruiting process,” he told Phenom Hoops. “Especially with the recent offers, it has been a surprise but definitely earned.”
Kansas might be his biggest offer Duke has earned, along with the others from Florida and VCU, as he thinks highly about the Jayhawks.
“I love Kansas,” he said. “I think they are arguably the best team in the country and they said they love my versatility and my ability to play on both sides of the ball, they think I would be a great fit.
VCU, I visited last year and it was good, ever since then they have been looking out for me. Florida saw me play recently as well as Kansas. They both offered after watching me. I was talking to Coach Roberts from Kansas a little bit before they came to see me. Florida, that was my first time seeing them.”
More offers could be coming though, as he also has interest from Syracuse, Creighton, NC State, and UConn.
Right now though, Duke mentioned that he is not focusing on visits right now but he did visit VCU last year on a trip.
"Multi dimensional player, I can handle the ball, shoot it a bit, good rebounder with great instincts. Athletic, play above the rim, competitive and good defender."
