Manteo vs. First Flight Game Recap and Storyline

Phenom Hoop Report travelled to the Outer Banks of North Carolina to cover the local rivalry between Manteo and First Flight. Coach Chad Williams First Flight team believes in one thing for certain. They love to push tempo and make the pitch ahead pass on each and every possession. There is no need for a shot clock when one is playing First Flight. First Flight took a commanding 42-26 lead into half time and came away with an impressive 80-57 home win. Leading the way was 6’0 junior Dylan Blake who finished with a game high 28 points and 10 rebounds. 5’8 junior Reese Jones finished with 16 while teammate Jordan High chipped in 13 points. 5’8 senior point guard Claveon Rice was outstanding in the losing cause. He finished with a team high 23 points, including two '3-pointers.

The Storyline: 6’0'Dylan Blake (First Flight)

Dylan Blake has the reputation as one of the best pure shooters in the state. He has unbelievable range, a quick release, and moves extremely well without the ball. In addition he is extremely young for his grade and is still 15 years old. 'While he is a right handed player, he prefers going to his left 'where he is efficient off the dribble. For the game, Blake finished up with a double double of 28 points, '10 rebounds and even dished out four assists. We were equally impressed with his poise, maturity and overall knowledge of the game, not to mention he has a certain flair of confidence on the court.
