Standouts from Day Two at Phenom's Queen City Showcase

Upward Stars Columbia

5'11 '21 Josh Gary- Gary is crazy athletic and very quick as well as being scrappy, he uses all those tools on the defensive side of the ball to cause havoc. He really excels in an up and down game where he can get out in transitions and make things happen.' He ended up with a scoring outburst of 42 points mixed with getting to the basket and just knocking down 3's from everywhere even pulling up on fast breaks.

5'10 '21 Tyus Johnson- Johnson was a consistent playmaker all weekend knows how to run a team has good feel and pace. He does well at finding gaps and taking whatever the defense gives him finished in the lane with floaters and does a good job of driving and kicking to open man.

6'5 '21 'Amere Cherry- Cherry is a long wiry wing that likes to get out in transition he scored 21 points in this outing by getting putbacks getting in transition and showed he could step out and shoot with range. Cherry is one of the better long term prospects on the roster.

Team Charlotte

6'0 '23 Justin Alquiza- Justin came out like a rocket early was a ball of energy used his length to disrupt the flow of the offense caused turnovers which lead to transition points. He started the game off very efficient making three early 3's and mixing up in the 2nd half by attacking the basket.

6'0 '23 Jermaine Gray- Gray is a hybrid forward who can get busy inside the paint or out on the wing. Strong bodied who absorbs contact while driving to the lane and battling for rebounds.' He can play as a secondary ball handler and is one of the better shooters on the team from distance.

NC Go Hard 16U

6'0 '21 Chalon Chisley- Chisley is another energy bringer a young man you would love to have on your team. His motor never stopped going just outworked everyone on the court. The most impressive thing I saw of him as he brought the same energy on the bench when he was in the game cheering and encouraging his teammates to keep playing.

Team Hickory

5'8 '21 Maverick Davis- Davis has very good basketball IQ he has an uncanny way about drawing fouls ended up going 13-13 from the line. He uses angles well and gets into the teeth off the defense and somehow ended up finishing through the contact. I was told shooting was his calling card and he didn't disappoint in his 30 point outing.

Ground Work Player Development

6'6 '22 Chatham Lambiotte 'Lambiotte is a matchup problem for most he has a strong frame with inside and out game. He gets up and down the court well able to get rebounds and lead fast breaks and is an ideal pick and pop candidate.
