Who We Are Looking Forward to Seeing (Part 2)

6' 2018 Chris Barnette
NC Runnin' Rebels

Barnette is the consummate point guard, the guy who never turns the ball over, team mates love playing with and shoots over 50% from beyond the arc. He has a great handle and pace on the ball and knows just how to deliver the proper pass to his team mates comfort areas. For the past 4 years, Barnette has showed out against all competition, this includes national high school events, prestigious Top 80s and in travel ball championship games. Heading into the summer of his junior to senior travel ball season, we are eager to see which college will step forward and offer him. They'll get a winner.

6'7' 2018 Jayden Gardner
Team Loaded NC

Gardner had about as good a junior season as one could have. 23 points, 15 boards, 65% from the field, 1st team All-State, Conference Player of the Year, 15+ D1 offers. The accolades and metrics piled up for Gardner. Though undersized, he is a physically dominate player due to his strength and tenacity. We are eager to see his progression as a player, he is a tough one for many schools and scouts to place level wise, though we have a pretty good idea that what he does translates to the next level.

6'4' 2018 Jaylen Alston
Carolina Wolves NC

Like Gardner above, Alston had one heck of a junior season. He led his team to the 3A state finals, won conference player of the year and averaged 20 points, 9 boards, 4 assists, 2.5 steals, 1 block and shot 55% from the field. Yet, unlike Gardner, Alston doesn't have any offers yet. That fact is almost getting laughable at this point as there is not much more he can do to deserve multiple offers. We are eager to watch the Top 80 alum go against some of the top wing talent in his region this weekend.

6'7' 2019 Cyril Nesmith
Mid State Magic 16s

Nesmith first caught our eye during Phenom Challenge Live. He is a big man who has a body that appears to still be growing. He plays on the block with a nasty streak and has great hands and solid feet around the basket. A below the rim guy, he is a high upside throwback big man. We are eager to see how his game (and body) have progressed over the last month. From now, until his senior year, he is one who could take major steps forward.

6'5' 2018 Jordan Love
Durham Bulls 17s

One of the breakout players of April, during both Phenom's Challenge Live and Phenom's Grassroots Tip Off Live Love had baselines full of college coaches watching. He did not disappoint during either event showing is acumen as a true 3-level scorer. He has good length and great athleticism. Every time out his confidence is rising and is a threat to go for 30+ at any time. We are eager to watch him this weekend go against some of the top wings in his region and see how he fights for his scholarships.
