Coach Rick’s Phenom High School Team Camp Session 2 Day 2

6’4 2020 Zavian McLean (Village Christian)

It was another productive day for the 6’4 2020 Zavian McLean. We’re talking about an all-purpose player that does a little bit of everything well. The southpaw can score from all three levels, entertain the crowd with thunderous dunks, and make plays for his teammates. We absolutely love the effort, energy and passion McLean demonstrates on both ends of the court. He’s a high academic student athlete and is vastly under the radar. He’s a definite “buy now” stock.

6’6 2020 Justin Thomas (Village Christian)

Over a year ago, Thomas moved to North Carolina and enrolled at Village Christian. In his first season at Village Christian, he was finding in niche and role, but that has quickly changed as he sports offers from ECU, George Mason and Georgia Tech of the ACC. Thomas is an extremely long and athletic wing that plays the game with poise. He’s an effortless leaper who has impeccable timing on rebounds and has the ability to make crisp, sharpe and excellent outlet baseball passes to start the break. Thomas is just scratching the surface on his long term potential and is stock continues to be on the rise.

6’6 2020 Reggie Raynor (Northwood Temple)

A picture speaks a thousand words. The high flying, elite level athletic wing sports a muscular and chiseled frame. He has improved his perimeter game and excels in the open court. Raynor strong presence on the defensive end of the court makes him an attractive player at the next level. We were impressed with his competitiveness on the court and brings a ultra blue-collar workmanlike approach to each and every game.

6’2 2022 Callahan Reed (Lake Norman Charter)

Looks can be deceiving. Although Callahan Reed looks like he is best suited for the church choir, he creates havoc on the court and becomes a devil on the court. We’re talking about a fundamentally sound, high IQ and crafty point guard that plays with poise and confidence. He’s extremely efficient from the perimeter and has outstanding range beyond the arc. More importantly, Reed is a coach on the floor. He is calm, cool and collect simply knows how to run a team.

5’10 2021 Jordan McPhatter (Butler High School)

Once again, 5’10 2021 Jordan McPhatter used the courts at Nation Ford High School as his own personal playground. Simply put, McPhatter has been sensational over the past two weeks at the Phenom High School Team Camps. The super quick southpaw has the ball on a string. He has terrific ball handling skills, unbelievable court vision and the ability to make the impossible pass look easy. In addition, McPhatter has the ability to knock down perimeter shots, dribble drive to score or set up open teammates.
