A platform of exposure, this is what the NC Phenom 150 exposure camp is all about. The camp set up is first come, first served as an open invitation event so that if you want the exposure you can get it. Every camp, every year, there are players who come out of nowhere and start their story.

This year's was no different. Numerous players started their story.

6'5' 2019 Gavin Rains
Wheatmore HS (Trinity, NC)

What he did here was hustle. Rains, a lefty sophomore, has good length, good explosion, and is relentless all over the floor. Rains said he averaged a double/double this year at Wheatmore High School and that seems about right, he just finds his way around the basketball. His second and third jump is lightning quick, his range is beyond the 3 point arc and he finishes 2 hands above the rim with contact in traffic. A lot to like moving forward.

6' 2019 Garrett Phillips
Holly Springs HS (Holly Springs, NC)

If you were anywhere around his court, you could hear Phillips coach yelling ' 'Let's go swaggy'. That is a good way of describing Phillips, his game is full of swag. The sophomore has deep and consistent range to go with the ability to get into the lane and either kick or finish. Starting on his varsity team at Holly Springs High School this year he averaged 8 points and shot 85% from the free throw line. As he continues to improve, he will be intriguing to watch.

6'4' 2018 Deante Petree
North Forsyth HS (Winston-Salem, NC)

Petree wasn't necessarily a breakout player as he has shown out previously at our events. However, in this camp he showed his full versatility as a player. Petree rebounded the ball well and showed great court vision.

5'11' 2019 Brad Halvorsen
Christ School (Arden, NC)

Halvorsen is a shot maker, he actually may have been the top shot manufacturer in camp. His brother, Matt, is committed to Western Carolina and is Christ School's all time leading 3-point shooter, so Brad comes by this naturally. Halvorsen was the second leading scorer in camp, he did it all 3 levels and was a tireless worker off the ball. Very nice player with upside.

6'5' 2019 Shy'Quan Jones
John Paul II (Greenville, NC)

Jones has all the tools. His length is incredible, he is a good athlete and he showed the ball skills to handle and shoot it beyond the arc. He came into camp with little reputation, but is certainly someone who left firmly placed on the radar. He has the look of someone who may add an inch or two still, but as his game continues to grow, so should his prospects.
