An Insider's Take
Jordan Gibson Commits to Presbyterian
By Jamie Shaw

Somehow Gibson flew under the radar, it is perplexing to us how this happened. He was the star for 6A Stonewall Jackson High School in Manassas, Virginia. Standing at 6'5', Gibson led his team in points and rebounds and finished second on the team in assists.

Gibson has a great frame and he really has a nice skill set to go with that frame. He stands as the teams secondary ball handler, often times getting them into sets. Gibson has deep range and plays with a great pace in both the half and full court.

Standing a a sturdy 6'5' and averaging 17.3 points (46% 2-point/39% 3-point), 6.6 boards, 2.7 assists, somehow Gibson only had a Presbyterian offer. Fortunately, new Presbyterian head coach Dustin Kearns was at the Summer Havoc Live, which was the first time he saw Gibson. He offered immediately and made Gibson a priority. Rightfully so, these are the type of players that Kearns needs to land in order to win championships.

On the heels of a 1 person class in 2017, Gibson is Kearns first recruit ever, and first recruit of the 2018 cycle.

Let's read about some of Jordan's Phenom Hoops coverage through the years.

#67 6'5' 2018 Jordan Gibson
'Jordan was a constant three-point threat, no matter where he was on the court.'' He was a threat to score the basketball at any time.' He shoots the ball extremely well off the catch and/or off the dribble.' He also showed that he can drive the ball and finish.' He is active on defense and rebounds well.' Continuing to work on the fine details of his craft and becoming more vocal could really help him down the road.'

Gibson has all the tools one needs on the offensive end. There isn't much he can't do. He can drive it, mid-range pull up, and knock down shots from deep. For his position he has the size needed to defend and make it difficult on opposing players. Coaches who are looking for a steal need to check him out.

Gibson has great size and plays with a great pace. He is very good in the mid range, especially off the bounce and displayed good vision, setting up from the point, wing and high post. George Mason and Lafayette were in watching today, expect more D1s to stick their heads in this week, he is under the radar.
