It was at the 2016 South Carolina Top 80 that CJ Felder’s name quickly exploded. He did nothing different from what he normally does, he just did it on a stage that people took notice.

The prestigious South Carolina Top 80 is an invite-only event that brings together the best players in the state of South Carolina to compete with and against one another, all under one roof. The event brought together nationally ranked players, along with already committed prospects, as well as younger player who are trying to make their name.

Felder his a hybrid type forward who shows the ability to really thrive playing both the 3 or the 4. Felder has a very strong frame and long arms. He plays with a non stop motor which really pairs well with great athleticism. Felder is a relentless rebounder on both ends and does a good job defending across the floor. As a 3 man, he is a power wing type. He has the shake and handle to get downhill in the half court set and he has the touch to be able to knock down shots with consistency.

After his performance at the South Carolina Top 80, National Recruiting Analyst Telante Webber wrote, “He has elite handles, which allows him to get to the spots he wants. He has a much improved midrange and beyond the arc game. His strongest attribute is his post footwork, which is flawless for his age. Along with those skills, he’s also a high flyer.”

In the fluidity of today’s game, Felder has a skill set that fits right in. He is able to attack multiple ways, he is also able to defend multiple positions, in multiple ways. This is one reason why his recruitment has sky rocketed since the South Carolina Top 80. After watching him during the year it was notable Felder’s game continued to progress, National Analyst Jamie Shaw wrote, “He has elite handles, which allows him to get to the spots he wants. He has a much improved midrange and beyond the arc game. His strongest attribute is his post footwork, which is flawless for his age. Along with those skills, he’s also a high flyer.” Felder currently carries double digit offers, from the likes of Auburn, Marquette, Clemson, Mississippi State, Virginia Tech and others.

Expect the recipient of the Mr Hustle award at the 2016 South Carolina Top 80 to earn a national ranking and more offers soon.
