Through the first two games at the NPBA Top 100, 6’8 BJ Mack does what he does best. He is going to give you consistent effort and produce efficient statistics, especially with a 12 man roster. Mack is averaging 7.5 PPG and 6 RPG, but this only begins to tell half the story. First of all, Mack is the perfect “team player.” He doesn’t demand the ball and is such a passer friendly teammate. As a matter of fact, he may be a tad too unselfish at times. That being said, Mack does what he is asked to do. He runs the plays, sets excellent screens, and moves without the ball. His points comes within the framework of the offense and rarely will you see him take a bad shot, not to mention his shot selection is tremendous. We really were impressed with his basketball IQ and understanding of the game. In addition, Mack will surprise you with his ability to put the ball on the floor, but more importantly we were most impressed with his court vision and passing skills.
While Mack will not wow you with elite level athleticism or ability to jump out of the gym, but you will get a player that will produce and play within the team structure. He’s a great teammate and he does all the little things that often goes unnoticed. He is just a model of efficiency and consistency which is what every coach could ask out of their players.
