It’s the week of the Josh Level Classic and once again the rosters are absolutely loaded with some of the top local and national talent in the prep ranks.

The energy this year may be the biggest ever along with the hoopers the JLC crew also brought in, MTV star B-Daht and his main man Drankins from 102 Jamz to coach on opposing sides. There have already been some shots fired on twitter between these two and a few players which has only added fuel to the fire. Daht is a celebrated hoops head and after examining Team B- Daht’s final roster he remains extremely confident.

“Dude. I got a team full of studs lead by probably the most known: Coby White. But know this, you’ll know many more names by the end of the game when we’re taking celebratory pictures with the trophy. No Struggle. No Progress. #TeamDAHT.” Daht said.

The Rosters –

This game would be a tough call even in Vegas these two teams are about as evenly matched as possible at first glance. I mean honestly pause for a moment and take it in; there are eight power five commits between the two, nine other players uncommitted are nationally ranked in their respective classes!

Ultimately though one team has to prevail so we have to dig in and see which side truly has an edge here in a contest of titans.

Team Drankins Case- This team features slightly more star power than team B-Daht led by Jalen Lecque, Jaden Springer, and Wendell Moore. Lecque is arguably the hottest name on the EYBL currently, it seems like every weekend he’s going viral on a mixtape for putting some– poor

burger on a poster while proceeding to break the rim.

Springer is considered pound for pound the top overall prospect in our hoop state regardless of class due to his production and potential. Springer continues to shred the Under Armor Circuit with BMaze Elite, he’s got every blue blood in America lined up to watch him on the regular.

Moore in my respected opinion is the top talent in this game currently and you would be hard pressed to find a more polished player with his resume. Moore was just born a winner and he’s done so at every level; Moore has collected two state titles, a Peach Jam Championship, and a gold medal. The fact that Moore has another year of high school to impose his will is plain scary.

The Chemistry between Moore and the Langley brothers could also come into play here, this trio know each other well and they have won a bunch of games together.

“Team Drankins MIGHT have the top 2 players in the event with Jalen Lecque and Wendell Moore.” JLC Program Director Jake Honeycutt said.

Team B- Daht’s Case- Depth and shooting will be big keys for this side because they are loaded top to bottom with both. McDonald’s all american Coby White leads this unit and he’s got a strong chance to take MVP honors. White is the most prolific scorer the state has ever seen, this dude has been a walking bucket for four years.

White will be joined by his HS backcourt mate Elijah McCadden and team CP3 teammates John Newman & Hunter Tyson. We will get a preview of the future of Clemson hoops with Newman and Tyson, both these guys are versatile and score in bunches.

Speaking of versatility and scoring Pat Williams should have his hands all over this game, his size and skill set could cause serious mismatch problems for Team Drankins. Duke commit Joey Baker and teammate, state champion Greg Gantt give this group two more possible mismatches on the perimeter, both these guys are three level scorers capable of stretching the defense.

“B Daht has some killers. With that being said I think John Newman will come out with the MVP in his city. Expect Patrick Williams to show he is among the big dogs nationally and Daivien Williamson will be a fan favorite.” Honeycutt said.

Now that both cases have been stated we will give the final verdict on the prediction!

I had to go in my bag for this one and pull out the big guns so on the predictions we have; Bryce Lanning of Elitemixtapes, Jake Honeycutt of JLC board, Coach Kishon Bishop of Triad Blue Chip, National Hoops analyst Jeff Bendel of Phenom Hoop Report, and National Analyst/Director of Basketball Elite Charles Clark.

Bryce Lanning Team Daht
Coach Bishop Team Daht
Jake Honeycutt Team Daht
Jeff Bendel Team Drankins
Charles Clark Team Daht

Team Daht is obviously a heavy favorite but they will still have to play the game, expect Team Drankins to come up swinging.

After the final horn sounds and the game is over both teams will gather and embrace one another for a cause bigger than the game.

“What a great event to honor the life of Josh Level. Josh was a young man filled with promise only to have his life be taken short. It was a pleasure watching Josh play and the Josh Level Classic is a great way to honor his life and raise money and awareness for AED’s (Automated External Defibrillators,) in schools.” Hoops legend Rick Lewis said.

The game continues to grow and the legacy of Josh Level continues to carry on thanks to a supportive family and a great group of ambitious friends.
